Lincoln Versailles – Best But Less Selling Cars

Lincoln Versailles is a mid size luxury car which was marketed and manufactured under Ford. This car was first introduced in the year 1977 and its production line had continued until 1980. Lincoln Versailles was offered in four door sedan models only. Versailles was the last car that was launched on the Falcon platform.

This mid size luxury car was not that successful as compared to other Lincoln cars. This car was initially designed as a contender to the Cadillac Seville which was introduced in 1975, but although this car was not a blockbuster in the automotive industry. This car has got a huge demand in the classic car market and has become a collectible due to its rear existence.

1979 Lincoln Versailles was powered by 351 cu in, 3.5 L, V8 engine. Another engine option was the 302 cu in, 5.0 L, V8 engine. This car was equipped with 2 barrel carburetor which supported very less power. During that period other cars in this segment used fuel injected technology. This engine had 4 in bore and 3 in stroke. This engine was capable of generating 130m hp and 237 lb ft of torque. This engine is mated with 3 speed automatic transmission. This car was equipped with independent spring coil front suspension and leaf rear spring suspension.

Lincoln Versailles had 109.9 in wheelbase. This scar was 201 in length and 74.5 in breadth and 54.1 in height. This car was equipped with 19.2 gallons of fuel tank.  Lincoln Versailles had power disc brakes at the front and rear.

This car is popular among classic car aficionados because of its unique car design and rare availability.
